About Jonathan Weinberg
Candidate For Los Altos City Council.
I am proud to call Los Altos my home. My wife and I moved here in 2009. We live with our two teen-aged children (both attending Los Altos High School), our dog, and two chickens. I am a Bay Area native, where I have lived most of my life.
In 2020, I was elected to the Los Altos City Council. I served as the City’s Vice Mayor in 2023 and am our City’s Mayor in 2024. It is an honor to represent you on the Council, and I have enjoyed working with a broad spectrum of our community to make our City a wonderful place in which to live, work, and play.
Professionally I am a partner with the law firm Finkelstein & Fujii in San Mateo. I have been selected to “Super Lawyers” and have been practicing law since 2001. My areas of specialty are real estate law and trust/probate law.
My dedication to our community runs deep. In 2015, I applied to be a city commissioner to serve my fellow residents and give back to my community. From 2015 through 2020 I served as a member of the Los Altos Parks and Recreation Commission (now the Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Cultural Commission), where I previously served as both the commission’s chair and vice-chair.
I served as a member of the Hillview Community Center Design Development Working Group, where I collaborated with other civic leaders to give input on the design and materials used on both the interior and exterior of the Hillview Community Center. All of the members of the Working Group understood the important role we played as the voice of the residents who use and enjoy the new Community Center. A spirit of cooperation, willingness to listen and understand, and a sense of collegiality all play a part in the success of the Working Group and the construction of our award-winning Community Center.
I enjoy traveling with my family, watching sports (baseball is my favorite), and being of service to my community.
