A Process that is Transparent, Fair, and Inclusive
I am a firm believer that government must be transparent, fair and inclusive. Too often leadership in Los Altos looks at our challenges on an ad hoc basis. Solutions are derived not through a reasoned, tempered, and rules-based analysis but willy-nilly. As an example, for years the City Council approved redevelopment projects through variances to our rules instead of a predictable, simple and streamlined application of our building codes.
As a lawyer, I understand the need for government to be transparent, fair, and inclusive. Our residents, businesses and other stakeholders must know that they will be treated equally and that the process to address their concerns is just.
If elected, I pledge to advocate for the Council to adopt a uniform decision-making process that considers the wants and needs of our residents, is data-driven, but which is also tempered by justice and empathy.
